Terrorist Bombing Strikes Brussels Airport: What We Know

The Associated Press reports that the Islamic State group claimed responsibiltiy for attacks at the international airport and a subway station in the Belgian city of Brussells has left at least 30 people dead and at least 150 wounded. A Belgian federal prosecutor says one of the terror attacks was probably the work of a suicide bomber. Belgian Prime Minister Charles Michel says authorities are worried there will be more attacks.

Industry, Agriculture Leaders Support Lifting Trade Embargo With Cuba

Ted Mottaz of the Illinois Corn Growers Association Board and Marcos Sallowicz, the director for Latin America with Caterpillar, are among those saying the U.S. trade embargo with Cuba should be lifted. Both have made recent visits to the country, and appeared as guests on WILL's The 21st on Monday.

Sen. Kirk Calls For Vote On Garland Nomination

The Republican told WLS Radio in Chicago Friday that the Senate should he Senate should "man up and cast a vote.''  President Obama nominated U.S. appeals court Judge Merrick Garland on Wednesday.  Kirk is the first GOP Senator to break with party leaders, who say there won't be a hearing for him.

UI’s Killeen, Wilson Weigh In On Impasse To Senators

U of I President Timothy Killeen and Interim Urbana Chancellor Barbara Wilson told an appropriations committee that some high-profile faculty are looking to leave the university due to the budget stalemate.  "I really fear for the brain drain right now," Wilson said.  Meanwhile, Killeen says the U of I won't be able to cover the full cost of students' MAP grants should the impasse continue this fall.
