Pinkalicious & Peterrific Come to WILL-TV and Your Local Library!

Pinkalicious & Peterrific is designed for children ages 3-5, and encourages kids to engage in the creative arts and self-expression, covering areas such as music, dance, and visual arts. The show is based on the best-selling book series by Victoria Kann. Along with two 11-minute stories, each episode will include interstitials to feature real-life kids creating art, as well as profiles of professional artists. Among the artists featured are blues singer Vaneese Thomas, ballet dancer Ramar Amasar and author-illustrator Kann.

WILL-TV partnered with the Danville Public Library and Champaign Public Library to bring two events to families. Families watched a premiere episode of Pinkalicious & Peterrific, made Pinkalicious wands and crowns and Peterrific art.  Every child was able to take home a book and a new pack of Pinkalicious & Peterrific colored pencils!  The families had a great time and were excited to watch the show at home (M-F at 8am and Saturdays and Sundays at 7am on WILL-TV) and on their parents’ devices anytime using the PBS KIDS video app.

To help families further engage with Pinkalicious & Peterrific at home, PBS LearningMedia has created several mini lessons and activities. Pinkalicious & Peterrific Dance Creation  is a short video clip where Pinkalicious & Peterrific dance with Robotta, a robot they created. They sing songs, and copy her movements as they move their bodies like machines. Families can also visit the Pinkalicious & Peterrific Collection through PBS LearningMedia to find several more videos and mini lessons that can be used to get kids engaged and exploring their creative side. For fun, be sure to let the kids explore the Pinkalicious & Peterrific website where they can play online games, watch videos, or find more activities.
