The Evening Concert

Tonight at 7:00 on the Evening Concert on FM 90.9 it’s the “Chicago Symphony Orchestra Radio Broadcast”. Stephanie Jeong and Kenneth Olsen are the soloists in Brahms’ “Double” Concerto. Also on the program Wagner’s “Overture to ‘The Flying Dutchman’” and Schumann’s “3rd Symphony”.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s “The New York Philharmonic This Week” with an all-Mozart program. You’ll hear the symphonies number 39, number 40, number 41, the “Jupiter” and number 25.  Former Music Director Alan Gilbert conducts.  

This week on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 you’ll hear Mozart’s “Jupiter” Symphony from New York, Brahms’ “Double”  Concerto from Chicago, Beethoven’s “Triple Concerto” from Bonn, Rachmaninoff’s “4th Piano Concerto” from San Francisco, then Sunday Beethoven’s “2nd Cello Sonata” from Lincoln Center and Haydn’s “Fifths” String Quartet from Santa Fe.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 you’ll hear Mendelssohn’s Op. 1 “Piano Quartet” on “The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center”.  At 8:00 you’ll hear Dvorak’s “String Sextet” on the “Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival”.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the first program in a new series from the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra. Music Director Laureate Michael Tilson Thomas leads the group in Mahler’s “6th Symphony in A Minor”.  Also on the program, the Adagio movement from Mahler’s “10th Symphony”.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s a Deutsche Welle Festival Concert. Avi Avital is the soloist in Bach’s “A Minor Violin Concerto”. Also on the program Beethoven’s “3rd Cello Sonata” and Grieg’s “Holberg Suite” and Boieldieu’s “Harp Concerto”.

Also on the program selections from musicals by Rodgers and Hammerstein and Lerner and Loewe.
