Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 we’ll pre-empt “The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center” to bring you this year’s retrospective “St. Olaf’s Christmas Special”.  At 8:00 you’ll hear music by Sweelinck, Billings and others for the Christmas season on “Early Music Now with Sara Schneider”.

Iconic recording of Beethoven’s “6th Symphony”

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s “Collectors’ Corner with Henry Fogel” with another program from a series of recordings by the Berlin Philharmonic led by Wilhelm Furtwängler. You’ll hear Beethoven’s “6th Symphony” the “Pastoral”, Mozart’s “Eine Kleine Nachtmusik” and Strauss’ “Symphonia Domestica”.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the Cleveland Orchestra Youth Orchestra led by Vinay Parameswaran.  Violinist Julia Schilz is the soloist in Bruch’s “Scottish Fantasy”.  Also on the program, Shostakovich’s “5th Symphony” and Bartok’s “Dance Suite”.

Tonight at 7:00 on the Evening Concert on FM 90.9 it’s the “Chicago Symphony Orchestra Radio Broadcast”. You’ll hear a concert version of Mascagni’s “Cavalleriana rusticana”. Anita Rachvelishvili sings the role of Santuzza. Also on the program Bizet’s “Roma” Symphony.  The program differs from the one listed in Patterns Magazine.

Shihan Wang plays Mendelssohn’s “E Minor Violin Concerto”. Also on the program, Eric Charles Chen plays Prokofiev’s “2nd Violin Concerto” and Isabella Brown plays the Dvorak “Violin Concerto”.
