The Evening Concert

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s “The New York Philharmonic This Week”.  You’ll hear Beethoven’s “3rd  Symphony" and Webern’s “Im Sommerwind” guest conducted by Bernard Haitink. Also on the program Berg’s “Violin Concerto” with soloist Leonidas Kavakos. The program differs from the one listed in Patterns Magazine.

This week on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 you’ll hear Berg’s “Violin Concerto” from New York, Beethoven’s “4th Symphony” from Chicago, Tchaikovsky’s “1st Piano Concerto” from Milwaukee, Beethoven’s “6th Symphony” from Pittsburgh, then Sunday a piano trio by Haydn from Lincoln Center, and an episode of “Early Music Now”.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 you’ll hear Beethoven’s “Ghost” Piano Trio on “The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center”.  At 8:00 you’ll hear a new release of music by Charpentier on “Early Music Now with Sara Schneider”.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. You’ll hear Bruckner’s “4th Symphony”, the “Romantic”. Music Director Manfred Honeck conducts. Also on the program, The Tallis Scholars sing works by Bruckner, Victoria and Allegri.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra. Sergei Babayan is the soloist in Prokofiev’s “3rd Piano Concerto”. Music Director Ken-David Masur conducts. Also on the program Shostakovich’s “Festive Overture” and the Gorchakov’s orchestration of Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition”.

Tonight at 7:00 on the Evening Concert on FM 90.9 it’s the “Chicago Symphony Orchestra Radio Broadcast”. John Sharp is the soloist in Schumann’s “Cello Concerto”. Riccardo Muti conducts. Also on the program Dvorak’s “Husitska Overture” and the Ravel orchestration of Mussorgsky’s “Pictures at an Exhibition”.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. Augustin Hadelich is the soloist in Brahms’ “Violin Concerto”. He’ll also play Bach’s Chaconne from the solo violin Partitas. Also on the program Beethoven’s “8th Symphony” in F Major”.
