The Evening Concert

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s “Carnegie Hall Live”.  Sir John Eliot Gardiner leads his Orchestre Revolutionnaire et Romantique in two Beethoven symphonies, the “8th in F major” and the “9th in D Minor”, the “Choral” Symphony.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the San Francisco Symphony. Music Director Designate Esa-Pekka Salonen leads the group in Strauss’ “Thus Spoke Zarathustra” and Sibelius’ “Four Legends from the Kalevala”. Also on the program Thorvaldsdottir’s “Metacosmos”.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the “Chicago Symphony Orchestra Radio Broadcast”. Denis Kozhukin is the soloist in Rachmaninov’s “2nd Piano Concerto”. Jaap van Zweden guest conducts. Also on the program, Tchaikovsky’s “5th Symphony” and Wagner’s “Prelude to Act 1 of Lohengrin”.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s “The New York Philharmonic This Week”.  Frank Peter Zimmerman is the soloist in Beethoven’s “Violin Concerto”. Alan Gilbert conducts.  Also on the program Ravel’s “Daphnis and Chloe Suite No. 2” and Stravinsky’s “Symphony in Three Movements”.
