The Evening Concert

Stravinsky's "Firebird" Ballet premiered in 1910; forty-plus years later Ginastera's "Harp Concerto" had its premiere.

It'll be Mozart's "Sinfonia Concertante" and Bruckner's "7th Symphony" on tonight's "Evening Concert"

Written between 1940 and 1944 with a premiere in 1945 the ballet music to "Cinderella" by Prokofiev is some of his most accessible and satisfying music.

Violinist Viktoria Mullova is the soloist in two of Bach's Violin Concertos and one of the Partitas for Solo Violin with Accademia Bizantina.

Also a symphony by Mahler, some American chamber music and Schubert's last String Quintet on this Week's "Evening Concert".

It's a cryptic headline, to be sure, explained as music by Mozart (first name Wolfgang) and music by Korngold, (middle name Wolfgang), with music by non-Wolfgang-named Dowland, Bartok and Poulenc.
