Beethoven's 1st (Piano Concerto) was completed after the 2nd (Piano Concerto) which was started first, ten years previously and the 4th (Piano Concerto) was completed within the next ten years. Your wait between the 1st and 4th concertos will be much shorter!
The concerto-style of composition (a solo instrument versus the ensemble) clearly works for violin with 'sound evidence' in Beethoven's Romances for Violin and Orchestra. Does it work for electronica?

Ravel composed two piano concertos: the one for Left Hand Alone and tonight's gem: the Concerto in G. In fact, he composed both in the same time period 1929- 1931, with the Left Hand Concerto's debut a mere 9 days preceding the Concerto in G.
