“The Sound of 13” and “The Middle”

Carlos Simon's "Amen" then Politics

Tonight at 7:00 on WILL-FM 90.9 … it’s the third episode in a series new-to-WILL: “The Sound of 13” hosted by Garrett McQueen”. It’s a program that examines the intersection of the 13th Amendment and classical music. At 8:00 it’s “The Middle”: a weekly, non-partisan call-in talk show on politics.

Thursday, January 18, 7:00 pm: The Sound of 13 (SOT 20-03) [New to WILL-FM]

The Black Church
If there’s any American institution that’s been a catalyst of freedom for Black people, it’s the Black church. It’s not only home to fiery sermons and thought-provoking ideas of Black freedom, but also Black music! Atlanta-based composer Carlo Simon had this in mind when he wrote “Amen”.
