Debussy’s “Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun” on the “Evening Concert”
Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 you’ll hear a chamber-size version of Debussy’s “Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun” and Schoenberg’s “Transfigured Night” on “The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center”. At 8:00 you’ll hear sacred and secular music by Jacob Obrecht on “Early Music Now”.

The centerpiece of this week's show is a superb collaboration between the Philadelphia based Renaissance band Piffaro and Belgium's Capilla Flamenca, featuring Obrecht's secular songs. We'll also hear the Brabant Ensemble performing selections from his Missa Grecorum, plus the moving funeral motet Josquin composed upon Obrecht's death.
