The Illinois delegation had front-row seats at this week's Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia. And several Illinoisans were in the spotlight, from members of Congress, to the nominee, former Chicago suburbanite Hillary Rodham Clinton.

The Chicago Cubs recently traded for one of the best relief pitchers in baseball as they attempt to win the team’s first World Series championship since 1908.  Adding a player of Aroldis Chapman’s caliber should be a cause for celebration for the team’s fans.  But Chapman brings with him some off-the-field issues that have given some Cubs fans pause. Illinois Public Media's Brian Moline talks with Brett Taylor of Bleacher Nation about the move.

The Illinois Attorney General's office says a settlement in the workplace retaliation lawsuit against Democratic U.S. Rep. Tammy Duckworth is final and the plaintiffs can't back out even if no paperwork
was signed. Duckworth faces GOP U.S. Sen. Mark Kirk in a November election that could influence control of the Senate.
