Champion Wheelchair Athlete Returns To Urbana Campus This Weekend
Champion wheelchair athlete Josh George returns to Champaign-Urbana this weekend.
The University of Illinois alum has won medals in three Paralympic games, and has won the men’s wheelchair division at marathons in Chicago, Los Angeles and London.
George is the keynote speaker at Sunday evening’s Champaign-Urbana Jewish Federation annual campaign kickoff event.
In this web extra, George discusses the accident that put him in a wheelchair, and how he flourished in wheelchair athletics.
George also discusses his longtime friendship with fellow U of I athlete Tatyana McFadden, and her amazing recovery from surgery for blood clots earlier this year.
