Marron To Serve Final Months Of Hays’ Term In Illinois House

Starting September 7, Vermilion County Board Chairman Michael Marron will take over for Chad Hays in the Illinois House.

Local Republican Party leaders met this week to formally nominate Marron to serve the final months of Hays’ term in the 104th District.

Marron is already the Republicans’ candidate for that seat in November’s election. He is running against Democrat Cynthia Cunningham.

Hays, a Vermillion County Republican, is leaving his House seat early to become executive director of Crosspoint Human Services in Danville.

Republicans who hold the majority of seats on the Vermilion County Board will be holding a public caucus meeting on July 30 to nominate a new chairman. The full county board will make the final choice.
