Cynthia Cunningham is the Democratic challenger to incumbent Republican Mike Marron in the race for Illinois House in the state's 104th district. The resident of Royal, and first-time candidate, spoke with Illinois Public Media about which issues she thinks are most important to her district, such as changing the school funding formula and protecting the Middle Fork of the Vermilion River. 

Dan Caulkins and Cindy Cunningham are running for Illinois House seats in different districts and for different parties. But they both say they want to promote cooperation, not gridlock, after winning their respective primary races on Tuesday.

Cynthia “Cindy” Cunningham is one of the two Democrats (the other is the Rev. Frank McCullough, Jr. of Danville) competing in the March 20 primary to be their party’s nominee in the 104th Illinois House District, which includes Danville and Rantoul.

There is now a Democrat running for the Illinois House seat serving parts of Champaign and Vermilion Counties. Cindy Cunningham of rural Royal in Champaign County says she will run for state representative in the 104th Illinois House District next year.
