Flood control and beautification measures along the Boneyard Creek have had a dramatic impact on Champaign’s Mid-town and Campustown areas over the last several years. Now, the city is calling for construction bids on the first phase of work on the Boneyard in the north end.

Some residents of Champaign’s so-called In-Town zoning districts say proposed city zoning rules could change the character of their neighborhoods for the worse.

Champaign-Urbana has seen a bit of a building boom in the last couple of years, leading city officials to revise their zoning rules. But some residents worry that that new buildings will change the character of their neighborhoods.

An official with the University of Illinois says a dock-less bike share program is likely coming to the Urbana-Champaign area in the fall. 

The City of Champaign has closed sections of two roads to repair pavement failures.
