The Illini men beat DePaul 82-73 last night in Champaign. Freshman Mark Smith connected on 12-of-12 free throw attempts and finished with a game-high 21 points. Kipper NIchols added 16 points, and Aaron Jordan grabbed a game-high 9 rebounds for the Illini.

Despite 29 points and a second-half rally from Malcolm Hill, Illinois lost to Central Florida 68 to 58 Wednesday night in NIT quarterfinal action at CFE Arena in Orlando.

The UCF Knights advance to the final four of the NIT, and will play TCF next week.

Malcolm Hill scored 22 points and had 10 rebounds as Illinois cruised to an 82-66 victory over Rutgers on Tuesday night. Illinois snaps a two-game skid while the Scarlet Knights have lost 13 straight games. Maverick Morgan added 17 points for the Fighting Illini.
 

Despite their 3-9 record in the Big Ten Conference, Illinois' men's basketball squad is favored to defeat Rutgers Tuesday night at the State Farm Center.

The Fighting Illini lost to the Wisconsin Badgers 63-55 Sunday night, in a game where Illinois forward Michael Finke had to leave with a knee injury.
