Johannes Moser plays Shostakovich’s “1st Cello Concerto”

Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 7 in C, “Leningrad”

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s “The New York Philharmonic This Week”.  You’ll hear Shostakovich’s “7th Symphony" and Borodin’s “In the Steppes of Central Asia” led by Leonard Bernstein and Mussorgsky’s “Khovanshchina: Prelude: Dawn on the Moskva River” led by Kurt Masur. The program differs from the one listed in Patterns Magazine.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the Cleveland Orchestra Youth Orchestra led by Vinay Parameswaran.  Violinist Julia Schilz is the soloist in Bruch’s “Scottish Fantasy”.  Also on the program, Shostakovich’s “5th Symphony” and Bartok’s “Dance Suite”.
