Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the first program in a new season from the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. Manfred Honeck leads the group in Gustav Holst’s “The Planets”. Also on the program a collaborative composition by five Pittsburgh composers called “The Elements”.

Ms. Young is becoming better known 'in these parts' by way of her guest conducting in the US. The program includes a rarely heard opera overture by Pfitzner (a contemporary of Sibelius).
