Tuesday night October 21 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on “Illinois Classical” it’s the “Chicago Symphony Orchestra Radio Broadcast”. From this year’s Opening Night at the Ravinia Festival Marin Alsop guest conducts Stravinsky’s “The Rite of Spring” and Rachmaninoff’s “Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini”.  

The New York Philharmonic This Week

Monday night October 20 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on “Illinois Classical” it’s “The New York Philharmonic This Week”. From the Philharmonic’s large discography, you’ll hear Brahms’ “4th Symphony” and “Variations on a Theme by Haydn” as well as music by Arnold Schoenberg.

Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center and Fiesta!

Sunday night October 19 at 6:00 on the “Evening Concert” on “Illinois Classical” you’ll hear music by Aaron Copland and others on the “Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center”. At 7:00 you’ll hear a program called “Heroes and Liberators” on “Fiesta”.

New to Illinois Classical: Heifetz On Air

Friday night October 17 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on “Illinois Classical” you’ll hear a program new to our schedule coming to us from the Heifetz International Music Institute in Staunton, VA called “Heifetz On Air”. Tonight’s program features music by Leonard Bernstein.

Los Angeles Philharmonic

Wednesday night October 15 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on “Illinois Classical” you’ll hear the second program in a new season from the Los Angeles Philharmonic. Yefim Bronfman is the soloist in Beethoven’s “Emperor” Piano Concerto. Also on the program Tchaikovsky’s “6th Symphony”.
