DeShawn Freeman scored 21 points and hit a 3-pointer with seven seconds left to lead Rutgers past Illinois 62-59 on Saturday. The Illini ended the regular season winning four out of five, but the loss may end its NCAA Tournament hopes and coach John Groce's tenure.

The Illini men's basketball team beat Northwestern 66-50 last night in Champaign. It's the first back-to-back Big Ten wins for Illinois since the end of the 2015 season.

Malcolm Hill led all scorers with 18 points, and added five rebounds and five assists. 

The Illini men caused few problems for Purdue Tuesday night in West Lafayette, Indiana, losing by a final score of 91 to 68. In three Big Ten road games thus far, Illinois has been beaten by an average of 21 points.

Illini seniors Malcolm Hill and Maverick Morgan finish their college careers unbeaten in the annual series with the Missouri Tigers.  Illinois finishes the non-conference season with a record of 10-3.
