Hundreds of people descended on the statehouse Wednesday to urge legislators pass stricter gun regulations. Moms Demand Action For Gun Sense has chapters across the country; it was founded in 2012 as a response to the massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary.

Gun violence and how to stop it was the focus of a town hall meeting held Wednesday in response to the shooting outside Champaign Central High School in early December.

The local chapter of the group Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America marked the fifth anniversary of the Sandy Hook massacre with a vigil at the Champaign Public Library Thursday night.
