A Parkland spokesperson says the threat came in about at 10:20 a.m. Thursday.  The community college quickly cancelled classes and evacuated.  "We are taking this seriously enough to err on the side of caution," said Parkland's Patty Lehn.  UPDATE - The school has announced it's reopening campus at 6 a.m. Friday after law enforcement completed their search. 

It’s been two years since Champaign’s Parkland College agreed to take over the Institute of Aviation at Willard Airport. The University of Illinois had voted to close the flight school, and Parkland saw an opportunity to fill the void.

Legislation that would cap contract lengths and severance pay for Illinois community college presidents is stalled in Springfield...at least for now.

The former Republican congressman will be stepping into his first non-partisan office.  He hasn't served in office since retiring in 2012 for family reasons, shortly after winning that year's primary.
