Martha Argerich has received numerous distinctions, including the French Government’s “Officier de l’Ordre des Arts et Lettres”....she joins the LA Phil. in Schumann's only Piano Concerto, still a standard of the concerto repertoire.

Schumann's 2nd is one of those works with a slight numbering confusion, as it was the third symphony completed; the first was an early version of what became the 4th Symphony, the second was published as the Symphony No. 1.
