The SIU Board of Trustees met Monday in Edwardsville to vote on a separation agreement with SIU System President Randy Dunn and to appoint an Interim President.

With a new enrollment manager in place, SIU-Carbondale's chancellor thinks change is on the horizon.

Fall enrollment at SIU-Carbondale dropped by over 14-hundred students, a decline of nearly nine percent from last fall. Carbondale's 2017 fall enrollment stands at 14,554.

Southern Illinois University in Carbondale is laying off 53 people and will not renew the contracts of another 26 employees as it tries to cut $19 million dollars in spending, spokeswoman Rae Goldsmith said Wednesday.
