Over the past month, three universities across Illinois have witnessed labor disputes that have resulted in strikes by their unionized members. The 21st was joined by two journalists that have been following the strikes.

Galesburg, IL recently hosted a rally for railroad workers threatening to strike if new labor demands are not met.

John Deere workers are striking at all 14 of their manufacturing plants across the country, four of which are in Illinois — including their headquarters in Moline. This follows the trend of many labor strikes across the country. 

Teaching assistants and other aides at the Decatur school district are suspending their strike and returning to work Friday morning.
