Peterson is one of three Republicans vying to succeed Adam Brown in Illinois' largely rural 102nd District House Race. A farmer, construction firm manager, and Edgar County Republican Party chair, Peterson has Brown's endorsement in the March 15 primary. No Democrats have filed to run for the seat.

Wednesday, he laid out his vision for finally ending the political stalemate that has paralyzed state government. The Republican's language was more conciliatory, but the ideas remain the same.
Before he was governor, Rauner was a wealthy private equity investor known in some circles for his involvement in education; there's even a charter school named after him: Chicago's Rauner College Prep.
