Sports reporter Julie DiCaro recently wrote an article for Sports Illustrated detailing the abuse that she and other female reporters receive regularly on social media.  She discussed the article with Illinois Public Media's Brian Moline.

The City of Peoria is paying $125,000 to a man who created a parody Twitter account of the city’s mayor.  The payment settles a federal lawsuit involving free speech and social media.

Offensive lineman Simon Cvijanovic wrote a series of Twitter posts Sunday accusing Beckman and some staff members of not offering proper treatment for a torn meniscus in his knee.   U of I Athletic Director Mike Thomas supported Beckman in a later statement.

Students at the University of Illinois Springfield began "live-tweeting" on April 14 - the date that that Lincoln was shot at Ford's Theater back in 1865. They've continued, tweeting in real time -- 150 years after the fact -- about the pursuit of John Wilkes Booth, and the funeral cortege from Washington, D.C. to Springfield.
