The Urbana City Council approved the purchase of six Tasers by the Urbana Police Department Monday night.

The Urbana City Council Monday night unimously supported new alderman Aaron Ammons, who later was the lone opponent in an initial vote supporting tasers for police.
The vote that will come Monday night required a last-minute pardon from former governor Pat Quinn. Mayor Laurel Prussing expects it to be unanimous.
