The City of Champaign has closed sections of two roads to repair pavement failures.
A nearly two-mile stretch of Windsor Road along the south edge of Urbana will be closed to traffic Wednesday and Thursday night. It’s been partially closed for the last two years, due to a rebuilding project and a dispute over defects that quickly appeared in the road.
Urbana Mayor Laurel Prussing says the proposed fiscal 2017 budget released Monday holds the line on the city's property tax rate, and has no new hires. But she says the $49.5 million spending plan also includes investments like road repairs, including the partially grant-funded MCORE project, reconstructing a section of Green Street.
