‘The Other Mike Madigan’ Challenges Bennett In 52nd District Senate Race

The Republican who shares a name with Illinois' longtime Democratic House Speaker is touting a number of Governor Bruce Rauner's business reforms as challenges Democrat Scott Bennett in Illinois' 52nd District. "The Other Mike Madigan" is an Urbana Alderman and restaurant owner who says solutions to Illinois' budget woes start with serious tax reform, and reductions in government spending.

Rauner Pushes Workers’ Comp Reform In Bloomington

Governor Bruce Rauner has taken his turnaround agenda campaign to Bloomington, calling for workers comp reform to save Caterpillar jobs that are moving to Arizona. He also repeatedly avoided answering questions about him not endorsing apparent GOP Presidential nominee Donald Trump.

Rauner, On The (Ad?) Attack

Rauner, a Republican, is in a battle of wills and political might with Democratic leadership: House Speaker Michael Madigan and Senate President John Cullerton.  They're at odds over the budget, business practices, union rights and more, and it's been widely reported that Rauner is planning to once again win over the public using the strategy that helped him get elected, TV commercials.
