Illinois Issues: Deferred Decision

More than 40,000 undocumented Illinois residents, who came to the country as children, are protected from deportation and are able to work under an executive order put in place by President Barack Obama. But during his campaign, Donald Trump pledged to “immediately terminate” the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program — often referred to as DACA.

H.G. Wells Ghost Story, Hidden In U Of I Collection, Finally Debuts In Print

H.G. Wells' eerie writing brought us time machines, aliens and a submarine, long before a real one was seen in the world. Still, one of his short stories spent decades unseen by his avid readers.

Until now, that is. His long-unpublished story "The Haunted Ceiling" is making its way into print for the first time, after being hidden for decades in the H.G. Wells papers collected at the University of Illinois.

Seven Hospitalized After Reports Of Attacker At Ohio State; Campus Now Secure

Ohio State University says a shelter-in-place warning has been lifted and the scene is secure following reports of an active shooter and at least seven people injured. It was later revealed the attacker drove a vehicle onto a curb, and used a butcher knife, and not a gun. Ohio State tweeted Monday morning that all classes would be canceled for the rest of the day.

GOP Rep. Brown Hopes For Budget Compromise

It’s the final week of the fall veto session - and the last few days in office for State Representative Adam Brown of Champaign. The three-term House Republican, who did not run for re-election this year, says it’s a "shame" that the state budget hasn’t gotten more attention since lawmakers returned to Springfield two weeks ago.
