The Evening Concert

Wednesday night February 26 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL 90.9 FMHD1 it’s the Cleveland Orchestra. Music Director Franz Welser-Möst leads the group in Mozart’s “29th Symphony” and Tchaikovsky’s “2nd Symphony”. Also on the program music by a percussion concerto by Johannes Maria Staud.

Tuesday night February 25 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL 90.9 FMHD1 it’s the “Chicago Symphony Orchestra Radio Broadcast”. William Welter is the soloist in Mozart’s “Oboe Concerto”. Also on the program Haydn’s “71st Symphony” and Mozart’s “29th Symphony”.

Monday night February 24 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL 90.9 FMHD1 it’s “The New York Philharmonic This Week”. Yefim Bronfman is the soloist in Prokofiev’s “2nd Piano Concerto”. Also on the program Tchaikovsky’s “Polonaise from Eugene Onegin” and Rachmaninoff’s “2nd Symphony”.

Sunday night February 23 at 6:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL 90.9 FMHD1 you’ll hear Mendelssohn’s “Midsummer Night’s Dream” and his “Double Concerto” on the “Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center”. At 7:00 you’ll hear music from Mexico on “Fiesta”.

Friday night February 21 at 7:00 on WILL 90.9 FMHD1 it’s “Early Music Now with Sara Schneider”. You'll hear a program titled “Music From the Courts of England” with music from the courts of Henry VIII, Elizabeth I and James I. The program differs from the one listed in Patterns Magazine.

Wednesday night February 19 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL 90.9 FMHD1 it’s the Cleveland Orchestra. Daniil Trifonov is the soloist in Brahms “1st Piano Concerto”. Music Director Franz Welser-Möst conducts. Also on the program Prokofiev’s “6th Symphony”.

Tuesday night February 18 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL 90.9 FMHD1 it’s the “Chicago Symphony Orchestra Radio Broadcast”. Vadim Gluzman is the soloist in Shostakovich’s “1st Violin Concerto”. Also on the program Debussy’s “La Mer” and Ravel’s “La Valse”.

Monday night February 17 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL 90.9 FMHD1 it’s “The New York Philharmonic This Week” with an all-Bernstein program. You’ll hear the “Chichester Psalms”, the “3rd Symphony, Kaddish” and “Suites 1 and 2 from The Dybbuk”. The program differs from the one listed in Patterns Magazine.

Sunday night February 16 at 6:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL 90.9 FMHD1 you’ll hear Beethoven’s “2nd Cello Sonata” and Kodaly’s “Duo for Violin and Cello” on the “Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center”. At 7:00 you’ll hear recently composed music from Latin America on “Fiesta”.

Friday night February 14 at 7:00 on WILL 90.9 FMHD1 it’s “Early Music Now with Sara Schneider”. You'll hear a program titled “Love Struck”. Broadcasting this program on Friday nights at 7:00 gives us time to collect new local recordings for use on future “Prairie Performances”.
