Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the “Chicago Symphony Orchestra Radio Broadcast”. Pekka Kuusisto is the soloist in Nielsen’s “Violin Concerto”. Hannu Lintu guest conducts. Also on the program Nielsen’s “Helios Overture” and Sibelius’ “Finlandia” and “5th Symphony”.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s “The New York Philharmonic This Week”. You’ll hear Haydn’s “48th Symphony”, Beethoven’s “4th Symphony” and Berio’s “Folk Songs” as sung by Dawn Upshaw, a 1982 graduate of Illinois Wesleyan University (!)

This week on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 you’ll hear Beethoven’s “4th Symphony” from New York, Nielsen’s  “Violin Concerto” from Chicago, Haydn’s “ ‘London’ Symphony” from Cleveland, a recital by Grigory Sokolov on “Collectors’ Corner”, then Sunday Schubert’s D. 581 “Piano Trio” from Lincoln Center and an episode of “Early Music Now”.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 the Escher Quartet plays Sibelius’ “Voces Intimae” string quartet on “The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center”. At 8:00 you’ll hear Ensemble Organum perform music of the Middle Ages on the “Early Music Now With Sara Schneider”.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s “Collectors’ Corner with Henry Fogel”.  It’s an all-Bruckner program. Jascha Horenstein conducts the London Symphony Orchestra in Bruckner’s “6th Symphony” and the BBC Northern Orchestra in Bruckner’s “3rd Symphony”.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the Cleveland Orchestra. You’ll hear Mahler’s “4th Symphony” in G Major”. Music Director Franz Welser-Möst conducts. Also on the program John Adams’ “On the Transmigration of Souls”.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the “Chicago Symphony Orchestra Radio Broadcast”. You’ll hear Strauss’ “Ein Heldenleben”, Fritz Reiner conducting, Elgar’s “Enigma Variations”, Sir Georg Solti conducting, and Brahms’ “Academic Festival Overture”, Daniel Barenboim conducting. That’s a celebration of CSO founder Theodore Thomas on the “Chicago Symphony Orchestra Radio Broadcast”.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 Kirill Gerstein is the soloist in Tchaikovsky’s “1st Piano Concerto”. Bramwell Tovey guest conducts. Also on the program the “1812 Overture” and selections from Act IV of “Swan Lake”.
