The Evening Concert

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the San Francisco Symphony. Conductor Laureate Herbert Blomstedt leads the group in Beethoven’s “6th Symphony”, the “Pastoral” and Mendelssohn’s “3rd Symphony”, the “Scottish”.

Sir Andrew Davis guest conducts. Also on the program, Sir Michael Tippett’s “Little Music for Strings” and “Praeludium for Brass”. 

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s “The New York Philharmonic This Week”.  Leonidas Kavakos is the soloist in Korngold’s “Violin Concerto”. Alan Gilbert conducts.  Also on the program Nielsen’s “2nd” and “3rd” symphonies and Beethoven’s “Coriolan Overture”.

This week on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 you’ll hear Korngold’s “Violin Concerto” from New York, Beethoven’s “4th Piano Concerto” from Chicago, Mendelssohn’s “Scottish” Symphony” from San Francisco, Brahms’ “1st Symphony” from Carnegie Hall, then Sunday, Vivaldi’s “Four Seasons” from Lincoln Center and music by Schumann  on the “Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival”.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s “Carnegie Hall Live”.  Sir John Eliot Gardiner leads his Orchestre Revolutionnaire et Romantique in two Beethoven symphonies, the “8th in F major” and the “9th in D Minor”, the “Choral” Symphony.
