The Evening Concert

This week on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 you’ll hear Beethoven’s “3rd Symphony” from New York, a symphonic poem by Liszt from Chicago”, Falla’s “Nights in the Gardens of Spain” from Milwaukee, Rodrigo’s “Fantasia Para un Gentilhombre” from Pittsburgh, then Sunday chamber music from Lincoln Center and an episode of “Early Music Now”.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 you’ll hear Faure’s Opus 15 “Piano Quartet No. 1 in C Minor” on “The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center”.  At 8:00 you’ll hear music by Margaret of Austria on “Early Music Now with Sara Schneider”.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the second program in a new season from the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. Guest conductor Gianandrea Noseda leads the group in Schumann’s “2nd Symphony”. Also on the program Prokofiev’s “5th Piano Concerto” with soloist Jean-Efflam Bavouzet.  

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the second program in a new series from the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra. Ken-David Masur leads the group in Tchaikovsky’s “4th Symphony”. Also on the program Sibelius’ “Violin Concerto” with soloist Augustin Hadelich.

Tonight at 7:00 on the Evening Concert on FM 90.9 it’s the “Chicago Symphony Orchestra Radio Broadcast”. Fabio Biondi guest conducts and is the soloist in two violin concertos by Vivaldi.  Also on the program soprano Vivica Genaux sings arias from operas by Veracini and others.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s “The New York Philharmonic This Week”. David Zinman guest conducts the Philharmonic in two Beethoven symphonies, the 4th and the 8th.  Also on the program Barber’s “Cello Concerto” with soloist Alisa Weilerstein.
