The Evening Concert

The recording was made in Carengei Hall this past April 3rd. Also on the program, Beethoven's 3rd Symphony.

You'll also hear music by Beethoven, Debussy, Bach and others.

On the second hour of tonight's "Evening Concert" the Orion String Quartet plays the 12th of Beethoven's 18 "String Quartets".

Also on the program, the Philharmonic's Principal Flute Robert Langevin is the soloist in Nielsen's "Flute Concerto".

There's more of Copland's music on the program: the "Orchestral Variations" and "Inscape" as well as Schumann's "2nd Symphony"

There's also on the program two of the greatest symphonies every written, by Mozart, his 25th in G Minor, and his last one, the "Jupiter".

Recorded in concert just a few months ago, this concert from the "Carnegie Hall Live! series is sure to delight. Schubert's "8th Symphony" is also on the program.

There'll also be a 20th-Century Piano Concerto by Copland and chamber music by Bach on the "Evening Concert".

Two of chamber music's most beloved works are featured tonight on the "Evening Concert".

By including the human voice as an orchestral instrument in his "9th Symphony", Beethoven extended the sonic pallette for symphonists who followed.
