Monday through Thursday and Sunday evenings at 7:00 pm on WILL-FM 90.9, with a string quintet, a symphony, a ballet suite, and much more.
The Piano Quartet is a less-often-heard work by Strauss, while the Sextet for Strings from "Capriccio" is more often played.
You'll hear the Symphonies No. 5 and No. 6, as well as the "Maskerade" Overture.
More Mozart on the program: two symphonies: the 35th, or "Haffner" Symphony and the 41st, the "Jupiter" Symphony.
In keeping with his desire to have the orchestra perform more less-often-heard works, Maestro Muti has music by Catalani and Martucci on the program.
He'll play with the National Youth Orchestra of the US led by Christoph Eschenbach.
There'll be multiple works by Mozart this week, a symphony by Beethoven and one by Nielsen, and chamber music by Brahms among others.
There's a double helping of Dvorak's music this evening: selections from the "Echo of Songs" and the complete Piano Quintet in A, opus 81.
"Gaspard de la nuit" (Gaspard of the Night) was written for piano solo in 1908; premiered in 1909; Constant's orchestration is from 1990.
