The Evening Concert

Two more Holiday Specials on one of the "Days of Christmas".

Start the week with "A Season's Griot 2016" and "Afro-Blue Christmas" and end it with a New Year and a new-to-us program "This is Cabaret: Anne Hampton Callaway and Friends"

Anton Armstrong conducts the many small and large ensembles in this annual program recorded on the College's premises in Northfield, Minnesota.

Tonight we pre-empt "The Midnight Special" to bring you "The Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols" from American Public Media.

"The New York Philharmonic This Week" is pre-empted for two Holiday Specials....

The Cleveland Orchestra is pre-empted for the Holiday Special...Winter arrived at 4:44 a.m. CT today

Chicago Symphony Orchestra is pre-empted tonight... Winter arrives Wed Dec 21 at 4:44 a.m. CT.

Falla didn't call it a piano concerto, "it" being his "Nights in the Gardens of Spain"....Debussy didn't call "La Mer" a symphony as it more rightly can be classified as a Symphonic poem.
