The Evening Concert

"A symphony must be like the world. It must contain everything." ( - Mahler)*.  And that 'everything' in this symphony includes tenor horn, cowbells, mandolin, and guitar.

It's a tour-de-force symphony in Beethoven's favorite key, C Minor, the "Resurrection" by Mahler...in a perfomance that crackles with energy.

plus Mozart's poignant "Symphony No. 40 in G Minor"

Composers include Monteverdi, Dufay, Janequin, Hasse and others.

You'll hear music by Monteverdi, "Pictures at an Exhibition", the "2nd Symphony" (Resurrection), String Quartets, and the Piano Quintet in F Minor among other works this week

Music by Haydn, Schumann, Janacek and Tchaikovsky.
