Thursday night November 2 at 7:00 on WILL-FM 90.9 it’s “The Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival”. You’ll hear Mozart’s “Dissonance” Quartet” played by the Dover Quartet. At 8:00 it’s “The Middle”: a weekly, live, call-in talk show on politics.
Wednesday night November 1 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL-FM 90.9 it’s the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra. You’ll hear Sibelius’ “Night Ride and Sunrise” Symphonic Poem and Beethoven’s “3rd Symphony”, the ‘Eroica’. Also on the program Baibe Skride is the violin soloist in a work by Sebastian Currier.
Tuesday night October 31 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL-FM 90.9 it’s the “Chicago Symphony Orchestra Radio Broadcast”. Martin Helmchen is the soloist in Mozart’s 25th Piano Concerto. Also on the program, Shostakovich’s 8th Symphony. Vladimir Jurowski guest conducts.
Monday night October 30 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL-FM 90.9 it’s “The New York Philharmonic This Week” with a “Playlist” program called “There, In the Night” with music for night-time, like Mussorgsky’s “Night on Bald Mountain” and Schoenberg’s “Transfigured Night”.
Sunday night October 29 at 6:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL-FM 90.9 you’ll hear Tchaikovsky’s 2nd String Quartet from Lincoln Center followed at 7:00 by music for the Day of the Dead on “Fiesta” and at 8:00 by Florence Price’s “2nd Violin Concerto” on “Gateways Radio”.
Thursday night Oct 26 at 7:00 on WILL-FM 90.9 it’s “The Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival”. You’ll hear Clara Schumann’s “Three Violin Romances”. At 8:00 it’s “The Middle”: a weekly, live, call-in talk show on politics. The chamber music program differs from the listing published in Patterns Magazine.
Wednesday night October 25 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL-FM 90.9 it’s the fourth program in a new series from the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra. Orli Shaham is the soloist in Chopin’s “F Minor Piano Concerto”. David Robertson conducts. Also on the program Ravel’s “La Valse”.
Tuesday night October 24 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL-FM 90.9 it’s the “Chicago Symphony Orchestra Radio Broadcast”. From the CSO’s archives you’ll hear Berlioz’s Overture to the “Free Judges”, Weber’s Overture to “Oberon” and Dohnanyi’s “Variations on a Nursery Song”. Also on the program Del Tredici’s “Final Alice”.
Monday night October 23 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL-FM 90.9 it’s “The New York Philharmonic This Week”. From commercially available recordings you’ll hear Manuel de Falla’s “Three-Cornered Hat”, “Love, the Magician” and the “Concierto del Sur” with guitarist Sharon Isbin.
Sunday night October 22 at 6:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL-FM 90.9 you’ll hear chamber music by Schubert from Lincoln Center followed at 7:00 by music of Antonio Fragoso on “Fiesta” and at 8:00 by Florence Price’s “3rd Symphony” on “Gateways Radio”.
