Thursday night November 30 at 7:00 on WILL-FM 90.9 it’s “The Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival” You’ll hear Tchaikovsky’s “Souvenir de Florence” and Oliver Knussen’s “Songs for Sue”. At 8:00 it’s “The Middle”: a weekly, live, call-in talk show on politics.
Wednesday night November 29 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL-FM 90.9 it’s the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra. Inon Barnatan is the piano soloist in Beethoven’s “4th Piano Concerto”. Roderick Cox guest conducts. Also on the program Richard Strauss’ “Don Juan” and Sibelius’ “5th Symphony”.
Tuesday night November 28 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL-FM 90.9 it’s the “Chicago Symphony Orchestra Radio Broadcast”. You’ll hear guest conductors Neeme Jarvi and others conduct works by Franck, Kodaly, and Khachaturian. Also on the program John Williams’ “Suite from ‘Memoirs of a Geisha’” featuring cellist Yo-Yo Ma.
Monday night November 27 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL-FM 90.9 it’s “The New York Philharmonic This Week”. You’ll hear Anne-Sophie von Otter sing “Six Orchestrated Songs” by Schubert as well as Tchaikovsky’s “Romeo and Juliet Fantasy-Overture”, Haydn’s “88th Symphony” and Prokofiev’s “5th Symphony”.
Sunday night November 26 at 6:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL-FM 90.9 you’ll hear Amy Beach’s “Piano Quintet” from Lincoln Center followed at 7:00 by indigenously inspired classical music on “Fiesta” and at 8:00 by a cello recital by Thapelo Masita on “Gateways Radio”.
Thursday night November 23 at 7:00 on WILL-FM 90.9 “The Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival” is pre-empted so that we can bring you a Thanksgiving special: “Giving Thanks”. At 8:00 it’s “The Middle”: a weekly, live, call-in talk show on politics.
Wednesday night November 22 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL-FM 90.9 it’s the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra. Stephen Hough is the piano soloist in Rachmaninoff’s “2nd Piano Concerto”. Also on the program Shostakovich’s “Fifth Symphony” and Anna Clyne’s “The Midnight Hour”.
Tuesday night November 21 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL-FM 90.9 it’s the “Chicago Symphony Orchestra Radio Broadcast”. You’ll hear Mozart’s “29th Symphony” and Haydn’s “71st Symphony” with Dame Jane Glover as guest conductor. Also on the program one of the Organ Concertos by Handel with soloist Paul Jacobs.
Monday night November 20 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL-FM 90.9 it’s “The New York Philharmonic This Week”. You’ll hear Mahler’s “Ninth Symphony” as played by the Philharmonic under the baton of former Music Director Alan Gilbert. Also on the program Webern’s Opus 1 “Passacaglia”.
Sunday night November 19 at 6:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL-FM 90.9 you’ll hear Brahms’ “Clarinet Trio” from Lincoln Center followed at 7:00 by tango music on “Fiesta” and at 8:00 by Perkinson’s “Worship” on “Gateways Radio”.
