Monday night December 11 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL-FM 90.9 it’s “The New York Philharmonic This Week”. You’ll hear selections from Tchaikovsky’s ballet “Swan Lake”, Lyadov’s “The Enchanted Lake” and Shostakovich’s “10th Symphony”. Alan Gilbert conducts.
Sunday night December 10 at 6:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL-FM 90.9 you’ll hear an all-Handel program from Lincoln Center followed at 7:00 by music of Argentine composer Alberto Williams on “Fiesta” and at 8:00 by Valerie Coleman’s “Afro” on “Gateways Radio”.
Thursday night December 7 at 7:00 on WILL-FM 90.9 it’s “The Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival” You’ll hear Schumann’s “Opus 44 Piano Quintet” and Bach’s “5th Brandenburg Concerto”. At 8:00 it’s “The Middle”: a weekly, non-partisan call-in talk show on politics.
Wednesday night December 6 at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on WILL-FM 90.9 it’s the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra. Joyce Yang is the piano soloist in Mozart’s “24th Piano Concerto”. Yaniv Dinur guest conducts. Also on the program Dvorak’s “In Nature’s Realm” and Lutoslawski’s “Concerto for Orchestra”.
