The Evening Concert

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 you’ll hear Brahms’ “2nd Piano Quartet” on “The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center”.  At 8:00 you’ll hear an entire program of music by Josquin on “Early Music Now with Sara Schneider”.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. You’ll hear Mozart’s “Prague” Symphony and Smetana’s “The Moldau”. Juraj Valcuha guest conducts. Also on the program Francesco Piemontesi is the soloist in Dvorak’s “Piano Concerto”.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the “Young Euro Classic, Part 1”, from the Deutsche Welle Festival Concerts. The C-A-E-R-U-S chamber ensemble plays Mendelssohn’s “2nd String Symphony”, Mozart’s K. 423 Duo for violin and viola, and works by Schubert, and Bach.

Tonight at 7:00 on the Evening Concert on FM 90.9 it’s the “Chicago Symphony Orchestra Radio Broadcast” with an all-Beethoven program from their archives. Bernard Haitink conducts the “Pastorale” Symphony, the “4th Symphony” and the Leonore Overture No. 2.  Also on the program the “Grosse fuge” String Quartet.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s “The New York Philharmonic This Week” with a program from the Philharmonic’s archives. Kurt Masur conducts Schubert’s “Unfinished” Symphony and Shostakovich’s “13th Symphony, ‘Babi Yar’” with baritone Sergei Leiferkus.  

This week on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 you’ll hear Schubert’s  “Unfinished Symphony” from New York, Beethoven’s “Pastorale Symphony” from Chicago, Mendelssohn’s “2nd String Symphony” from Berlin, Mozart’s “Prague Symphony” from Pittsburgh, then Sunday Brahms’ “2nd Piano Quartet” from Lincoln Center, and an episode of “Early Music Now”.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. Ray Chen is the soloist in Bruch’s “1st Violin Concerto”. Kryzysztof Urbanski conducts. Also on the program Shostakovich’s “5th Symphony” and Beethoven’s Overture to Egmont”.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the fourth program in a new series of Deutsche Welle Festival Concerts. Karen Gomyo is the soloist in Bernstein’s “Serenade after Plato’s Symposium” with the West German Radio Symphony led by Cristian Măcelaru. Also on the program music of Beethoven, Dvorak, and others.

Tonight at 7:00 on the Evening Concert on FM 90.9 it’s the “Chicago Symphony Orchestra Radio Broadcast”. David Fray is the soloist in Chopin’s “2nd Piano Concerto”. Christoph Eschenbach guest conducts.  Also on the program Mendelssohn’s “Italian” Symphony and “Overture to A Midsummer Night’s Dream”.
