Food Stamps Saved, But The Next Clock’s Already Ticking

Illinois has taken steps to prevent 260,000 residents from losing government food assistance. That gives the state a year to prepare these individuals for the job market.

Under federal law, poor people without kids or significant health problems are cut off from food stamps; they're limited to three months of eligibility in three years' time.

Cubs Hang On For 3-2 Win, Series Headed Back To Cleveland

Aroldis Chapman got eight outs for a pressure-packed save and the Chicago Cubs held off the Cleveland Indians 3-2 to force Game 6. It was Chicago's first World Series win at Wrigley Field since 1945.Game 6 is Tuesday night in Cleveland. Starter Jon Lester went six innings for the victory, and the Cubs got solo home run out of Kris Bryant in the three-run fourth inning.
