Carle To Appeal Ruling On State Law Regarding Tax Exemption

Carle will file its appeal to the Illinois Supreme Court by the February 9th deadline.  Earlier this month, a state appellate court ruled Illinois' law governing when hospitals are property tax exempt for charity care is unconstitutional. A Carle spokesperson says it's about "protecting the community's health care resources."

A dangerous line of thunderstorms is forecast to move through central Illinois between 8 pm and 1 am tonight. Potential hazards include 75+ mph straight-line winds, EF-2+ tornadoes, and 2″+ diameter hail.
