Meteorologist Says White Christmas Likely For Champaign-Urbana

People hoping for a white Christmas this year may be in luck.
Meteorologist Andrew Pritchard with ChambanaWeather.com says a system will move through our area on Sunday, Christmas Eve.
“As it stands right now, I think Champaign-Urbana is in line for very close to an inch of snow," Pritchard said. "So, while I was a little bit less certain a couple days ago, if you ask me now this (Friday) morning, I think it looks pretty good.”
But, Pritchard says it shouldn’t have much of an effect on people’s travel plans.
“It’s going to be kind of a long duration, starting Sunday morning, lasting into the afternoon on Sunday," Pritchard said. "but a light snow that’s slow to accumulate, and the accumulations will be highest on grassy surfaces, so I’m not anticipating any major travel impacts.”
