Abduraimov plays with the work that brought Van Cliburn his fame. Abduraimov's teacher was Stanislav Ioudenich who won the 11th Van Cliburn competition in 2001.

After the Second World War, actor Christopher Plummer worked with Sir Neville Marriner and others to create the work now known as "A Shakespeare Scenario" using Shakespeare's words and music by Sir William Walton originally frmo the film "Henry V" by Sir Lawrence Olivier.

Andsnes recorded the Schumann "Piano Concerto" for a 2003 release on the EMI (now avail available through Warner classics) with the Berlin Philharmonic.
