After Thursday night's 78-69 loss, the Illini still haven't beaten the Badgers since 2011.
The Illinois football team lost its homecoming game to No. 5 Wisconsin 24-10 Saturday at Memorial Stadium in Champaign. Badgers Alec Ingold and Garrett Groshek scored on short runs in the first half, offensive lineman Michael Deiter added another touchdown on a trick play late in the game, and Wisconsin remained unbeaten for the season.
The 10th-ranked Wisconsin Badgers jumped out to a 16-2 lead last night in cruising to a 57-43 victory over the Illini men in Champaign. The Badgers had an off-night shooting, but the Illini were worse. Illinois shot just 28-percent from the field, and 24-percent from behind the three-point arc.
Corey Clement ran for 123 yards and three touchdowns and No. 7 Wisconsin intercepted Illinois quarterback Jeff George Jr. four times in rolling to a 48-3 win on Saturday.
George had an awful day a week after helping Illinois rally to beat Michigan State.
