The Evening Concert

This week on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 you’ll hear Mozart’s G Minor Symphony No. 25” from New York, Shostakovich’s “8th Symphony” from Chicago, Brahms’ “Op. 115 Clarinet Quintet” from Berlin, Strauss’ “Metamorphoses” from San Francisco, then Sunday chamber music by Mozart from Lincoln Center and Mozart’s “Kegelstatt” Trio by from Santa Fe.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 you’ll hear Taneyev’s “Op. 30 Piano Quintet” on “The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center”.  At 8:00 you’ll hear Schubert’s “D.956 String Quintet” on the “Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival”.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the San Francisco Symphony. Alexander Gavyrlyuk is the soloist in Prokofiev’s “1st Piano Concerto. Karina Canellakis guest conducts. Also on the program Shostakovich’s “7th Symphony, the Leningrad”.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s a Deutsche Welle Festival Concert from Bonn. You’ll hear the Borodin Quartet play Beethoven’s “String Quartet No. 12” and movements from the “7th String Quartet”. Also on the program Shostakovich’s “12th String Quartet” and movements from his “2nd String Quartet”.

Tonight at 7:00 on the Evening Concert on FM 90.9 it’s the “Chicago Symphony Orchestra Radio Broadcast”. You’ll hear Mendelssohn’s “4th Symphony in A Major, the Italian Symphony” and Dvorak’s “5th Symphony in F Major” and Also on the program Respighi’s “Feste romane” and Martucci’s Notturno.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s “The New York Philharmonic This Week”. It’s an all-Stravinsky program led by Valery Gergiev. You’ll hear “The Firebird”, the “Symphonies of Wind Instruments’ and “Les Noces” with the Mariinsky Theater Chorus and assorted vocal soloists and pianists. 

This week on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 you’ll hear Stravinsky’s “The Firebird” from New York, Mendelssohn’s “Italian Symphony” from Chicago, Beethoven’s “12th String Quartet” from Bonn, Prokofiev’s “1st Piano Concerto” from San Francisco, then Sunday piano preludes by Scriabin from Lincoln Center and a “String Quintet” by Schubert from Santa Fe.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the fourth program in a new series from the San Francisco Symphony. You’ll hear Mussorgsky’s “Pictures at an Exhibition”. Cristian Măcelaru  guest conducts. Also on the program Adam Schoenberg’s “Losing Earth” and Boulanger’s “Spring Morning”.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s another Deutsche Welle Festival Concert from Schleswig-Holstein. You’ll hear Concerto Copenhagen play Gade’s “String Octet” and Nielsen’s “Little Suite for Strings”. Also on the program Nielsen’s “1st String Quartet” and Sibelius’ “Intimate Voices String Quartet”.
