The Evening Concert

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the San Francisco Symphony. Simone Young is the guest conductor for a concert performance of Act One of Wagner’s “Die Walkure”. Also on the program Richard Strauss’ “Metamorphoses for Strings”.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s a Deutsche Welle Festival Concert from Berlin. You’ll hear Brahms’ “Opus 115 Clarinet Quintet” and Janacek’s “Fairy Tale” pieces for cello and piano. Also on the program movements from  violin sonatas by Beethoven, Debussy and Bartok.

Tonight at 7:00 on the Evening Concert on FM 90.9 it’s the “Chicago Symphony Orchestra Radio Broadcast”. You’ll hear Shostakovich’s “Op. 65 Symphony No. 8 in C Minor. Also on the program Avner Dorman‘s “Eternal Rhythm” with percussionist Cynthia Yeh.

You’ll hear Wagner’s “Siegfried Idyll” and “Prelude and Liebestod from ‘Tristan und Isolde’” and Mozart’s “25th Symphony in G Minor”. Also on the program Hakan Hardenberger is the soloist in Gruber’s “Trumpet Concerto”.
