The Evening Concert

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra led by Kirill Petrenko.  You’ll hear Mahler’s “4th Symphony” with soloist Christiane Karg. Also on the program Barber’s “Adagio for Strings’, Arvo Pärt’ “Fratres” and Ligeti’s “Ramifications”.

Tonight at 7:00 on the Evening Concert on FM 90.9 it’s the “Chicago Symphony Orchestra Radio Broadcast”. Concertmaster Robert Chen is the soloist and conductor in Mozart’s “3rd Violin Concerto”. Also on the program Mozart’s “Eine Kleine Nachtmusik”, “2nd Flute Concerto” and “25th Symphony”.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s “The New York Philharmonic This Week”. Alexander Romanovsky is the piano soloist in Rachmaninoff’s “Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini”. Alan Gilbert conducts. Also on the program Act II from Tchaikovsky’s “The Nutcracker” ballet and Martinu’s “4th Symphony”.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. Michael Rusinek is the soloist in Weber’s “1st Clarinet Concerto”. Manfred Honeck conducts.  Also on the program Strauss’ Suite from the ballet “Whipped Cream” and waltzes and polkas by the Strauss family and others.   

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra. You’ll hear Beethoven’s “5th Symphony” and Rachmaninoff’s “The Isle of the Dead”. Peter Oundjian guest  conducts. Also on the program Debussy’s “Premiere rapsodie” with soloist Todd Levy.

Tonight at 7:00 on the Evening Concert on FM 90.9 it’s the “Chicago Symphony Orchestra Radio Broadcast”. You’ll hear Schubert’s “9th Symphony”, the “Great” C Major symphony and Haydn’s “95th Symphony”. Daniel Barenboim conducts.  Also on the program Schoenberg’s “Pelleas and Melisande”.
