The Evening Concert

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. Ray Chen is the soloist in Bruch’s “1st Violin Concerto”. Kryzysztof Urbanski conducts. Also on the program Shostakovich’s “5th Symphony” and Beethoven’s Overture to Egmont”.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s the fourth program in a new series of Deutsche Welle Festival Concerts. Karen Gomyo is the soloist in Bernstein’s “Serenade after Plato’s Symposium” with the West German Radio Symphony led by Cristian Măcelaru. Also on the program music of Beethoven, Dvorak, and others.

Tonight at 7:00 on the Evening Concert on FM 90.9 it’s the “Chicago Symphony Orchestra Radio Broadcast”. David Fray is the soloist in Chopin’s “2nd Piano Concerto”. Christoph Eschenbach guest conducts.  Also on the program Mendelssohn’s “Italian” Symphony and “Overture to A Midsummer Night’s Dream”.

Tonight at 7:00 on the “Evening Concert” on FM 90.9 it’s “The New York Philharmonic This Week”. Robert Langevin and Nancy Allen are the soloists in Mozart’s “Concerto for Flute and Harp”. Lorin Maazel was the guest conductor guest. Also on the program Mozart’s “Prague” Symphony and Debussy’s “Iberia” and “Jeux”.
